Ryan Giggs to front Charity Midnight Walk

Ryan Giggs OBE is to front the launch for the Midnight Walk charity event for East Cheshire Hospice.  Last years walk was an amazing success raising £72,000.  This years fancy dress walk is all set for 12 September and as the name suggests starts at midnight.  At a distance of 10K participents will not be getting to bed early as they walk from Macclesfield Leisure Centre, through Prestbury and Tytheringto.

"The £72,000 raised last year went towards the cost of Phase 1 of the fantastic new development at the hospice which I was very proud to officially open a few weeks ago.  I'd encourage everyone to get their boots on this year to raise even more money," said Ryan.

This year organisers are aiming to smash last years walkers targets and are hoping for around 1000 participants this year and  to raise in excess of £100,000. 

Fancy dress is being encouraged at the walk, and there will be a prize for the best costume.  Chief Executive, Jayne Bessant says "We want to make it a real party atmosphere"
